Drastic

Hey. So. Opinion.

I'm thinking of drastically changing my do. Greg is opposed as he likes the super long hair, however he admittedly is not the one who's lugging around 7 pounds of Heat-Retaining hair. My original goal was to grow it so that it falls below my boobs. As my boobs continue to grow - defying all laws of nature - my goal seems increasingly impossible.

On the one hand, I have romantic notions of my kids having memories of Mama with long hair when they were little - Maybe that sounds silly. On the other hand, I can't get cutting it short out of my head.

I'm also afraid it won't look good if it's short. I'm heavier than I used to be and my face is rounder. Maybe long hair is better than shorter hair. I do have stick straight hair and the tousled shorter looks I like would probably be harder to achieve.

To Sum Up - I"m looking for opinions here people. Feel free to weigh in.

Keep the long hair? (The Picture above was one of the best hair days I've had in the last YEAR. It DOES NOT look like that all the time. Mostly it is pulled back in a messy bun that usually is half-fallen apart.)

Cut it SHORT?

Ugh, I feel your pain. Hubby likes it long. I don't care what my hair is, I've just never tried the super short cut and really like it on other people. If it's usually pulled back, you aren't really sporting a do anyway. Maybe short will give you some style. I say go for it and I will live vicariously through you! And of course you know, it'll always grow back!

I had longer hair. Then I cut it short. Short as in NO ponytail is possible short but I still had length for curl. I do not like to "do" my hair thus short it's worn in a mock "bedhead" look which in reality is literally bedhead.

I am currently growing it longer again because nothing...NOTHING replaces the cool I get when I put it up (ponytail, pigtails, bun, braid...whatev).

I'm currently rocking a medium length about and inch/or two longer than than picture. I can get a dinky pony tail and two ridiculous cute anime like pig tails. I will not go much shorter again myself.

I think you can cut it it short. Here's the deal I kept my hair long because I wanted to donate it. I complained for MONTHS. Literally. It was miserable. So my hubby was just glad to hear me stop complaining and see me happy again. And he likes that when he runs his hands through my hair it doesnt leave him with 1000yrds of shedding hairs. Short showers. Happier in the summer. More prone to doing my hair. I'd say go for it. I also say don't go real short, short enough you *could* put it in a pony tail if you wanted a 1 or 2 inch fluff on the back of your head. That way you have some normalcy.

Why not try something in the middle? Your hair looks long like mine was, I cut 6" off and still had "long" hair. I've chopped even more now and I'll be happy when it grows out an inch or two, but I think you can pull it off.

I am fortunate in the my hubby doesn't care if I have long, short or medium length hair. So, I've had hair from chin length to waist-lenth in our 12+ years of marriage. Right now, my hair looks pretty similar to your (except I'm trying out bangs for a while).

First, I love the cut you picked-it's so sassy and I personally wouldn't hesitate to try it. It will feel very light and fluffy when you first get it done. Sometimes a change is good and I know I personally feel the need for a change sometimes. As for short hair making your face look more full, I don't necessarily agree. My sister has a very round face and looks MUCH better with a cut similar to the one you posted.

As to whether shorter hair will be cooler, I will disagree. Mid-length hair just kind of sits on the back of your neck making it hotter IMO than longer hair. With longer hair, you can pull your hair into a ponytail/bun to get it off of your neck completely. I also find that with longer hair, my hair just sort of draps from the back of my head over my shoulders leaving a space for wind to blow under my hair. It's much cooler than the ends of my hair sticking to the back of my neck.
